THE GUN SHOT ROOM

On December 3rd, 1976, two days before "Smile Jamaica", a free ...concert organised by the then Jamaican Prime Minister Mr Michael Manley, Bob Marley, Nana Rita and Bob's manager, the late Mr Don Taylor, were wounded from gunshots by unknown gunmen inside 56 Hope Road, Kingston.
Mr Taylor and Nana Rita sustained serious injuries but later made full recoveries.
Bob received minor wounds in the chest and arm.
The shooting took place in what we now call, The Gun Shot Room.
I paid a visit last Friday and the chill is still there.
Bless.

GREETINGS YOU LOT

Greetings you lot.
Jamaica is nice.
Yesterday I spent a glorious afternoon with Nana Rita Marley at the Nyabinghi Cultural Project in Porus, Clarendon, of which she is patron.
...
Now kindly hear this.
Nana Rita Marley will invest in the book Portrait of a Legend and other Folks.
Nana Rita Marley Marley will write the introduction to the book Portrait of a Legend and other Folks.
Last Friday I had the pleasure of a one-hour meeting with the minister of Tourism, the Hon: Damion Crawford, who is overwhelmingly enthusiaistic and promised to do his best helping to promote Portrait of a Legend and other Folks due to be published in August.
I am due to leave Jamaica tomorrow evening.
But for now, time for the beach.
Ciao you lot and ONE LOVE.

**I was to present a PoaLaoF Limited Edition Promotional T-Shirt to Jamaica's minister of Tourism, the Hon: Damion Crawford in his office last Friday.**

A TRIBUTE TO BOB MARLEY - STEVIE WONDER - SUNSPLASH 1982

In 1982, Stevie appeared at the annual Reggae Sunsplash Festival in Jamaica. That year the festival paid tribute to Bob Marley who had died a year earlier. Stevie was joined on stage by the group Third World and Rita Marley to perform Masterblaster (Jammin') and Marley's Redemption Song. After their performance Stevie suggested that he write some material for the band's next album. The result was the hit single Try Jah Love and the socially aware, You're Playing Us Much Too Close.
